SCROLL DOWN FOR PICTURES FROM THE EVENT
Here is some fashion inspiration to get you through the week.
A magical pastel look featuring an O-Mighty dress and Unif platforms; as well as a top from Forever 21 which I wear in the Winter in California post.
This colorful pineapple set was published on the Polyvore front page and got 1200 likes! The babes over at Polyvore are absolutely amazing <3
And here’s a set I did a while ago featuring Wildfox, Madden, and Jacobs.
I can find something great in every season but this one is seriously one of my favorites. I think the reason is that in California we experience a very dramatic change in the weather somewhere in early October. While everyone is getting ready for Halloween in the hot weather and picking costumes that show very generous amounts
of skin, the weather goes bipolar and freezing temperatures visit California (freezing weather to Californians is pretty much sundress weather for the rest of the world). Speaking of Halloween costumes how did you guys like my Halloween post? (if you haven’t seen it yet you should go check it out). However this giant change in weather brings beautiful streets with falling leaves and rainy sidewalks. I used to love walking home from school right after the rain had passed, in the brisk weather with the smell of rainy sidewalks, it was probably the only time I really enjoyed that long walk. I decided to put some of my absolute favorite things about this season in this set. I absolutely love the comfort clothes that this season brings, it allows you to be more at home in public and to forget about appearances. I think that is why this season is filled up with delicious food holidays. We are allowed to pig out on Halloween and thanksgiving because the next day we can through on a giant oversized sweater and no one ever has to know that you ate two pumpkin pies by yourself last night. That’s why I believe leggings, scarves, and oversized sweaters are a must this season. Another favorite of mine from this season is the smells that come with it. I absolutely adore the smell on the streets after the rain has passed and the smell of food cooking for the holidays. But my all time favorite smell is the one they pump into the air of certain stores like Michael’s and Pier1. I got this “Leaves” candle from bath and body works and it is probably the closest smell I could find to the one in the stores. We plugged in a bunch of wallflowers into all the outlets at our house and the entire house smells like holiday happiness now. Lastly I absolutely adore that wearing all dark colors is more acceptable in this cold weather because most of my wardrobe is dark fall colors so I definitely have the most options in this season. I will definitely have a lot of fall outfit posts coming up in the near future so stay tuned for those and I will link them all below.
Hey guys! I wanted tell you about my experience with the Phillip Lim for Target collection. Yesterday morning I woke up around 630 and got to target around 720. The parking lot was pretty empty so I felt a huge wave of relief, however when I got to the entrance I saw just how big the line was. It was long but I thought it might not be a problem; however having about 50 people in front of you and like 20 bags in the store doesn’t give you a good chance of getting a bag. The area designated for the collection was really small and it was really difficult to grab things. By the time we got to the area a lot of things were gone. The boom sweater that I really wanted wasn’t there anymore and the cheetah print blouse was gone as well. I was there with my mom and we managed to grab a lot of things from different locations. The bags were really disappointing because they told everyone to get in line for bags, but a lot nasty little girls who don’t play fair decided to push everyone out of the way and get like 10 bags each…. I thought it was extremely unfair; however, we got lucky and grabbed a cute bag and then were able to exchange that bag with another girl for an even cuter one that I really, really wanted. I learned some lessons for next time and I thought I’d share them with you: 1. Do not get a cart! A cart would make it so much easier to grab a bunch of things, right? Wrong! You can’t grab things if you’re struggling to maneuver the cart in the tiny area; we made that mistake. 2. Manners don’t really matter in these situations. While you’re being polite and trying not to push people around, the girls who left their manners outside are holding all the bags. This was like hunger games; you don’t fight, you don’t win. 3. Lastly you should really try to get there early because the first people in grabbed some really good stuff.
All I all, I think we got some really cute pieces and I’m really happy we went. I got the cute mustard bag (although it looked much bigger in the pictures) and a lot of other things which I will show you guy really soon in some upcoming posts. Did you buy anything cute from the Phillip Lim for Target collection? Tell me in the comments below! Thanks for reading! ❤
Hey guys so today I thought I’d share with you some items I really want to get from the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection. I think this collection is gonna go really fast so I you want to get some pieces from it make sure you go the day it is released (this Sunday, September 15th).
First I’m going to start with the clothing I want. I loved a bunch of the pieces with the orange and blue cheetah print, especially the skirt and sweater (and the outfit in the picture below as well). I love the boom sweater; I love that its very classic Philip Lim and I really want to get it. The tiger sweater is also pretty cute; as is the trench coat in the top right. And I absolutely love the pattern in the bottom right corner; there are really cute things I want to get with that pattern in the picture below.
Now I love a lot of things in this picture. First I wanna say that all the outfits are incredibly cute and I would wear all of them. But the pieces I loved the most (and am really hoping to get) are the two outfits on the sides with the lovely patterns, and the dress (or is it shirt and skirt?) in the middle with the green sleeves. I was certain it was a dress but the outfit next to it has the same bottom, so now I’m not so sure, either way I want it.
I think the things I want most out of this collection is bags. I really want the two at the bottom, especially the mustard one. If I get nothing out of that store but the mustered bag, I’ll call the day a success.
So anyways that’s my preview/wish list of the Phillip Lim for Target collection. I’m super excited for it and I’m definitely gonna wake up really early and try to make it there before the store opens. Also they already have the site open if you want to take a look around http://www.target.com/c/3-1-phillip-lim-for-target-brand-shop/-/N-55ji0.
Remember Sunday, September 15th, 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target
I’m absolutely in love with the Rockstud collection by Valentino, however the price point is a little steep for me. Like most working girls I always look for a better deal or a cheaper alternative. I spent a few hours online and as it turns out there are many affordable dupes for these beautiful shoes. Here are my findings<3
Ivanka Trump $58.95 I think these are really cute and the quality seems really nice, and I’m not sure but I think that these actually came out before the Valentino ones did (but again I’m not sure). I also think its nice that they are 80% cheaper than the Valentino ones.
Wet Seal $12.90 With these ones I think that you get what you paid for, the quality obviously is not close to the Valentino ones, and they will most likely fall apart much faster. However I still think they’re cute and a very good deal (96% cheaper than Valentino).
Forever 21 $24.80 I think these are the closest to the Valentino ones, especially the black ones. They’re not glossy like the ones I had in that picture but I just found ones that look identical to the Forever 21 ones on the Valentino website. (and they’re like 96% cheaper:))
(Edit May 2014)
These are currently the only available ones:
ShoeDazzle $39.95 I think these shoes look very similar to the Valentino ones. If you want you could probably even stud the top strap and the sides to make it look even more similar. I think they’re a great deal and I’m definitely going to order them. (btw picture next to the shoe is from here)
Sole Society $49.95 These ones are cute too but I personally prefer the Shoedazzle ones.
Hopefully you enjoyed reading this, feel free to click around on the rest of my site!!
Did you try any of these out? How was your experience? Let me know in the comments:)
